The Surround Mix Group is an Audio and Video Post Production boutique near Philadelphia. We are masters of television commercials and promos, branding films, music scoring, and long form storytelling. 

After twenty years at MTV, Nickelodeon, Post Perfect and Sound Lounge, New York sound designer Mark Schultz opened the Surround Mix Group in 2007, as a boutique post studio serving clients in the Mid-Atlantic region. After six years operating SHAKE Audio post, Mark has grown SMG into the Schultz Media Group, offering audio and video post production.

 

With a degree in Graphic Design, Mark has been editing for over twenty years, and has won four CINE Golden Eagle awards for editing specials for Sesame Street (see our portfolio). He has won four EMMY awards and multiple ADDY awards. In addition to extensive Sound Design and mixing, Mark composes original music, and consults on acoustics and studio design.  

 

Christiana Benton is a talented singer/songwriter with an administrative side who joined SMG after managing Mark's clients and schedule at Shake Audio Post. After seven years in Nashville, she now calls Philadelphia home. Christiana handles talent relations for the popular World Cafe Live venue. At SMG, we edit in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects. We sound design and mix to picture using Pro Tools Ultimate. We write, do storyboards, and direct. We compose original music, or edit inexpensive stock music to your picture cut. We cast talent, and even represent a few select VO professionals. We consult on studio design, acoustics, and show control. We record voice over, connecting with you remotely, and also work in 5.1 surround, and in 360 spatialized audio for VR headsets.
